Miki Bone has worked in professional and educational theatre for over 34 years. Miki served as Managing Director of Contemporary Theatre of Dallas until its closure in 2016 following the deaths of Brian Loncar, and his daughter Grace. As a monument to the founders Brian and Sue Loncar, and the thousands of performing artists who worked at CTD over the years, we keep the website alive to honor their memories and their body of work.

Miki's Past writing, producing and directing endeavors have been funded by the Texas Commission on the Arts, City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, TACA and The 500, Inc.  She has served on the Boards of STAGE, Artreach, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and a host of projects for her alma mater Ursuline Academy of Dallas.

In 2014, Miki  earned a Masters of Arts in Humanities from UT Dallas. During her graduate career, Miki wrote her most recent play,  Division Avenue, as part of a course offered by the "Artist Whisperer"  Prof. Fred Curchack.

Under the direction of Broadway veteran Dean Nolen, Division Avenue premiered July-August, 2013 at the Abingdon Theatre in NY as a part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival. Competing against 62 other productions, the show earned 9 festival awards including Best Play, and featured Broadway veterans Joanna Glushak and  Mitch Greenburg.

Division Avenue was then produced in November-December 2013 at Contemporary Theatre of Dallas and produced by J-Town Playhouse in Jerusalem, Israel in February-March 2014.

Bone traveled to Los Angeles to direct a short film entitled Expecting, and she looks forward to promoting it at film festivals in the coming year. She is especially thankful for the support of her husband of 35 years, Tom Melsheimer , her three children, and a host of extended family and friends!
